About Beethoven House Music

Beethoven House is a specialty music business with headquarters in the Berkshire village of South Egremont, Massachusetts. After 25 years as a print music dealer in New York City, we have moved to an area famous for culture and thick with musicians. During the summer months, we have a joint venture with the Boston Symphony to sell music at nearby Tanglewood. We offer a Manhattan style inventory and knowledge of our product. Our customers are spread all over the country, and those in the northeast enjoy next day service standard. Once connected with G. Schirmer Music Publishers, the store has been independently owned and operated since 1985.  Beethoven House specializes in print music but also sells books about music, unusual musical gifts, and small instruments and accessories. We also keep on hand a number of fine pianos in association with Flynn Pianos, including restored vintage Steinways.

Our Philosophy

Beethoven House believes that everyone should live life more musically. Making music yourself  is a richer experience than being just a listener. You may be an adult amateur, a virtuoso, or a nine year old beginner. It doesn’t matter where you are on your journey of musical discovery. The idea is to get directly involved in our great common musical legacy.

For example, the Piano Trio page reflects the Piano Trio shelf in the shop. It is laid out so that you can quickly compare a number of editions on the same page and make your selection.
