About Flynn Pianos at Beethoven House

Terry Flynn has been tuning and repairing pianos since the early 1970’s. He worked from his home in Georgetown, CT until 1995, and then moved to New Fairfield, CT, just north of Danbury.

In 2001 Terry teamed up with Kim Muller of Freiburg, Germany. Kim completed the masters degree program (Klavierbaumeister) while working for Steinway's Hamburg factory and is now an independent consultant and restorer.

Kim comes to Terry's workshop in New Fairfield every 2-3 months to rebuild the actions on Steinways using German parts, techniques and standards. The soundboards, pin blocks, and finishes are prepared for him in advance.

Besides work on customers’ pianos, we also try to keep a few finished Steinways ready for sale: usually a 7’ Steinway B and smaller 5’7” or 5’10” Steinway, M or O. For customers interested in good, but less expensive pianos, we also have used Yamahas that are in excellent condition, both grands and full-size uprights.
